Thankful for provision

I am thankful that God will provide for my needs. God is the God of all creation and because he created all things he gives us all we need to do the work he has set before us. Take a moment. Watch the video.

I find it truly amazing to know that God, the one that created the universe, knows me and cares to provide everything I will need. Think about this statement:

There is one God, Jesus, and He will provide for me.

Jesus tell us in Matthew 6:25 that we are not to be anxious for anything. Not what we will eat for our next meal nor what we will clothe ourselves with to protect us. Then he gives two examples from nature that you can go out and observe right now, if you want. The first is birds of the air. Let's look at the truth of an animals existence. For the majority of an animals life, they spend it hunting for food, eating said food, mating, or protecting their offspring. I understand that not all animals act the same, but these are the things that most animals of the world do. Here, in the book of Matthew, Jesus tells us that the birds, and by extension every other living creature, is will always find food provided by God. Then he says this statement that is profound, "Are you not more important that they?" A rhetorical question to which the answer is yes. Humans are more important than animals. You are more important than animals. The second example Jesus gives is flowers. Every year flowers bloom, wilt, die and come back. If God takes time to clothe the meadows with beautiful flowers, He will always be there to clothe you for service.

Practically this does not always mean that we will be healthy or full. Jesus will give us what we need when we need it. What it does mean is that you never have to worry about what you need, just worship the Jesus and he will provide. If you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior please be comforted by his provision. If for you made it this far and don't know Jesus, please find out who he is. He is so amazing, so wonderful, so caring that once you know him you will wonder how you ever got on without him.

  1. Dude yes. It can be hard to know God will provide, I mean I know He will, but I don't really KNOW. Faith is crazy like that. We as humans love to do it on our own and let that distract us from fully relying on God. I always end up with what I need and for that I am thankful. God is so good. What a good reminder brother. Thanks for the post.
